Kids Clubs are welcomed into communities as a one day weekly ministry program. Many Kid's clubs are held in places where living conditions are hopeless. In rural areas and slums, our Kid's clubs are often held in places where children cannot attend school--and a Kids Club is a very special event in their lives. Through Abundant Life Care, teachers are trained in flash cards, puppetry, singing songs & games, Scripture storytelling, memory verses and Health & Hygiene. Teachers are given workbooks in their regional language, teacher's manuals and name badges. Students receive ID tags.

The Slum of Lost Hope
We call it the "Slum of Lost Hope." Desperately poor parents were sacrificing the future of their daughters, in return for the small amount of money that the girls could earn as full-time Daily Wage Laborers.
All day, every day, for 8-10 hours a day, the little girls worked as Brick Mason Assistants, That build new apartments.
When our Kid's Club Teacher came to the slum, they began working against this abusive system. They arranged for the girls to get a little time off so they could attend a Kid's Clubs meetings. They held Kids Club meetings in the local residences vacant lot, emphasizing the need for education. At the Kids Club meetings, the teachers showed the unschooled girls how to behave in a classroom. They shared Bible stories, personal prayer, songs, and games. They shared Christ's love. A few of the overworked little girls became disciples.
Now these four girls have new hearts, attitudes, self-esteem ... and hope. With the encouragement of the teachers, the girls are breaking free from their bondage to Daily Wage Labor Work. The girls in the "Slum of Lost Hope" are being rescued and redeemed.
The young girls, who had no hope, now have New HOPE!

Children's Ministry - in the Slums
God has given us the burden to start a children's ministry in the slums. We started in 1999 with a few children. Today 100 children come weekly to Sunday school at just one of the Slum Churches. Recently we have started a Kids Club for the Children, which meet on Saturday afternoons.
Our goal is the spiritual, mental, physical and social development of the children, and the development of the community. Our joy knows no bounds when we see many young children give their hearts to the Lord. We want to provide school fees and uniforms, proper nutritious food and tuition classes to these children. These children live with their parents who are unable to take proper care of their children. You can sponsor a child with just $15 Dollars a month. There are many other Slums in India, which we want to reach out to; we need your helping hands! |
